Our Story
Henry David Thoreau once said "go confidently in the direction of your dreams" and that is exactly what we did. In 1999 we began clearing land to plant our first vineyards and bramble patch. Over the next few years the vines were tended and grew strong, by 2006 with much excitement we opened our winery to the public. Certainly a labor of love handcrafting wines from heirloom recipes and locally produced grapes and other fruits.
Today Merry Family Wines are available in local stores and carryouts in Ohio and West Virginia or you can Wine in the Countryside by visiting us here at our Bidwell, Ohio location. Enjoy wine sampling, strolling thru the onsite vineyards or just sipping and relaxing in a comfortable spot on the front porch or spacious patio. Fridays and Saturdays enjoy wood fired pizzas from the authenic italian pizza oven or on alternate weekends Southern Style hickory smoked BBQ.
